Dublin, 20th October, 2023 — Nügo, a subsidiary of the newly-formed Nuvion group – which also includes Fastway and Parcel Connect - proudly launches its dedicated 2-person collection and delivery service in the Republic of Ireland.

Specialising in the transport of items over 30kg, Nügo’s ambition to become the heavyweights in the 2-person transport industry across Ireland will be fuelled by an initial €10 million investment, creating over 100 new jobs and targeting revenue in excess of €15 million over the next three years.

Nügo has already secured partnerships with major Irish and international retailers such as Very, Oxendales, and Woodies. Nügo’s growth is further reflected in the expansion of its fleet, recruitment of additional skilled personnel, and the addition of strategic depots across key regions in Ireland.

At the helm of Nügo is Liam Hennessy, a dominant force in the industry who brings a wealth of experience to his role as Managing Director. Prior to spearheading Nügo, Hennessy served as the Commercial Director at Fastway for several years, demonstrating a track record in optimising operations and driving business growth. Hennessy's extensive career has seen him play pivotal roles in companies including Kerry Group, and Georgia Pacific.

Liam Hennessy, Managing Director, Nügo said: “Through extensive market analysis, we pinpointed critical gaps within the heavyweight delivery sector. Coupled with the exponential surge in e-commerce, Irish enterprises recognise the unprecedented surge in demand for home delivery of big-ticket items, calling for more tailored and seamless delivery solutions. Nügo was established with a singular focus: to offer a meticulously scheduled service tailored exclusively for items exceeding 30 kg in either dead or volumetric weight, including palletised items."

“We are thrilled to launch Nügo at a time when the demand for scheduled, personalised and convenient heavyweight delivery options is at an all-time high. As Nügo grows and establishes itself as a formidable player in the heavyweight industry, we predict substantial growth in the business, which will see an increase in employees, fleet, and facility numbers, within a short space of time,” adds Hennessy.

Deirdre O’Reilly, Senior Logistics Manager, Very Ireland, said: "Very has partnered with Fastway for many years, for our one-person deliveries. I was delighted when the opportunity arose to work with Liam and Nügo, for our heavyweight goods. Their 2-person collection and delivery service has streamlined our operations and allowed us to offer our customers a level of convenience and reliability that sets us apart. Nügo's commitment to excellence is evident in every interaction, and we're proud to be one of their first clients.”

Danny Hughes, Nuvion Group CEO, said: “Launching Nügo within the Irish market signifies a pivotal time for Nuvion, as part of a house of brands strategy. Nügo operates within the Nuvion family, alongside well know household brands, Fastway and Parcel Connect. This synergy not only strengthens the company's market presence but also ensures seamless integration and access to a leading end-to-end ESG-driven supply chain group for people and businesses. The company's commitment to innovation, coupled with Liam’s visionary leadership, is set to propel Nügo to new heights in the heavy goods transport industry.”

In addition to its core services, Nügo offers full track and trace capabilities, NügoNotify - a dedicated delivery notification suite, and a fully traceable solution for the disposal of 'Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment' (WEEE) items through a fully licensed, specialised processing facility.
